So I don't think I mentioned it at the time, but shortly after I got here, my beard trimmer (which, btw, I bought the day before I left) had the honor of being the first--and hopefully last--electronic device that I toasted due to the voltage difference over here.
It was silly, really. I knew it was only 110 compatible, but I plugged it into an adapter that I momentarily forgot was only an adapter, not a converter as well. Oops.
A few minutes, a quick pop and a funny smell later, and I'm now growing a month-old goatee.
I've been tempted to just let it grow wild and scraggly to be all hippied-out, but its starting to drive me nuts.
I think a new beard trimmer is next up on my shopping list.
