Sportstalk - Two ups and one down

Wings are into the Conference Finals for the first time since '02, Pistons are up 2 games to 0 on da Bulls!

The last time the Pistons won the title and, if I'm not mistaken, the last *two* times that the Wings won the Cup both came during times when my friend and former roomie Justin was abroad. Here's hoping some of that absentee magic has rubbed off on me!

I just hope the Wings make it into the finals where all the games will be played at fairly normal east coast times. Those'll make for some late nights, but at least its do-able to listen to the games before bed. With those blasted 9 and 10pm EDT starts, just forget about it. Unless I feel like going to bed early and setting my alarm for 4am to catch the end of the game.... Hmmm....

On the down side, I just read that Joel Zumaya is going to be out for three months! Ugh. Hopefully the Tigers can keep in the hunt without him and get a good surge going into the stretch when he gets back.

I miss sports. I need to get to a hurling or rugby or hell even a soccer match. But it won't be the same. Short of fall Saturdays, this is the best time of year for sporting interests back home.

Yeah, the Bulls are just really blowing their chances at anything right now. At least that's the impression I'm getting from the evening news sportscast.

Keep up the great blogwork, Tristan! You've got a hoard of people living vicariously through you right now.

Although you're missing some pretty good weather back here in Chicago!

Hey, Tristan, if you get a chance, check into Let's Go Wings and look at some of the Photoshop wars with the Ducks. Absolutely hilarious stuff!

And we have fans in Germany, England, Scotland, Finland and Sweden who are more than willing to set their alarms and catch the games. But we'll do our best to try and get to where you can listen at a more civilized hour. Don't worry - I'll keep you informed of everything that goes on.

GO WINGS!!!!!!
